Modernising the MGB proved difficult, but this attempt was fairly successful...

This prototype was produced by the consortium headed by Alan Curtis of Aston Martin - its intention was to rescue Abingdon and the MG marque from the obscurity that was to result from the decision by Sir Michael Edwardes to close the plant. This car shows thoughtful design features and it has an appreciably more stylish front bumper treatment than the standard rubber-bumpered MGBs. It also made use of the MGB GT windscreen.
