The YDO Numbers

BMC Australia had trodden their own evolutionary path, once left to run with the BMC range of cars, and from 1962 the Antipodean subsidiary decided to use their own code numbers to denote development of cars specific to them.

Standard version with wind-up windows.

YDO5 Mini Deluxe
...with wind-up windows.

YDO6 Mini Cooper S
...with wind-up windows.

YDO7 Mini Moke
...with 10" wheels.

YDO8 Mini Moke
...with 13" wheels.

YDO9 Morris 1500
Modified version of the Morris 1300, fitted with E4 engine.

YDO10 Morris 1800 Ute
Pickup version of the Morris 1800 'Landcrab'.

YDO13 Austin X6 Tasman/Kimberley
1800 'Landcrab'-based replacement for Austin Freeway, but fitted with E6 engine.

YDO14 Austin X6 Tasman/Kimberley Ute
Proposed pick-up version of Austin X6 cars.

YDO15 Morris Nomad
5-door hatchback version of the Morris 1500 (YDO9)

YDO18 Mini Moke
Update of YDO8 (the version with 13" wheels).

YDO19 Austin Tasman/Kimberley MkII

YDO21 Mini Clubman
Australian version.

YDO22 Mini Clubman Super
Australian version.

YDO23 Mini Clubman GT
Australian version.

YDO24 Moris Marina
Australian version.

YDO25 Leyland Marina
4 and 6 cylinder versions (facelift).
