The Marina led a quiet life and after the car planned to replace it, the ADO77 was scrapped due to the Ryder reorganisation of BL in 1974, it remained pretty much unchanged throughout its life. The A-series 1275cc engine was a constant companion to the Marina, but the 1798cc B-series engine (shared with the MGB) was dropped in favour of the overhead cam O-series engine in 1978.
