In March 2003 I received an e-mail from Ken Holloway telling me about his Vampirella models, and something about his pictures really intrigued me.

He enclosed a bunch of pics, some of which are on this page.  Ken goes by the name of jack Reptile (hence the title of this page) because he used to breed reptiles before he had an accident, leaving him as a quadriplegic. He has a great collection, including some models I hadn't seen before, such as the Vampirella at the church door (right) and the superb Vampirella seemingly lying in the sun to top up her tan (below).

Jack (Ken) is helped by a friend he met on eBay, Tim Sloan.  Tim has done several models for Jack, and has his own web site if you are keen on modelling with some really cool statues and models.  You can reach it on www.monsterarmor.com

Time for some shuteye

Check out this terrific model above - this custom job was done by Ernie Gutierrez. The custom built church door was done by Dave Hackett and the ray gun model (below) was the one done by Tim Sloan.

A bit of background about Jack ... which he sent me.

"This basically started after I came home after my accident in 1998. I was home in time for Christmas and received both copies of Heavy Metal the movies. At the end of H.M.2000, I saw Julie Strain for the first time and was very taken by her interview. So, I wrote  her a e-mail. She is the nicest person! ! We became friends thru e-mails. Since then I've gone Vampirella crazy collecting models, statues and other items. that's most of my story. I'm sure that I'm forgetting something."

The interview that Jack is talking about in the paragraph is (I think) the interview with Julie Strain at the end of the film Heavy Metal 2000 on the DVD - it's an absolutely fabulous interview and Julie comes across as such a real person.

If you haven't got the DVD and seen the interview then my advice is go get it.
