After her fairly minor foray into colour comics Vampirella began a saga that would last from April 1994 to April 1996. This saga, called the Vengeance of Vampirella, saw her through Adam's transformation into Bad Jack, a number of evil demons that tried to invade the Earth, and the Mystery Walk - her revelation of a new origin. It was a time of fierce savagery, rich companionship and religious revelation as she and her comrades battle in Heaven itself. It was also a time for the alternative cover to first appear, initially as dealer incentives. |

Vengeance of Vampirella Mystery Walk Series From Vengeance of Vampirella #14 to #19 the Mystery Walk saga unfolded, revealing for the first time Vampirella's true origin (or so we thought at the time). For more information see the origin page. Meanwhile, this series was marked by releasing an alternative cover by Buzz for each of these issues, originally shipped as one in every 20 regular covers for dealers who ordered 20 or more. These have now become sought-after collector's items. Also note there was a special limited Dynamic Forces run of all 6 regular covers signed by Christopher Berkeley (the artist on the regular covers) and limited to only 1,000 copies of all six. I have placed each cover in my collection with the others for that cover. |
