Vampirella Pinup Special #1 Quite a rarity - a Vampirella story without a story. Just page after page of luscious pictures of our heroine in various pinup poses. The only odd thing is that Vampi's costume means she is always wearing less than most pinups wear all the time. |

Vampirella: Sad Wings of Destiny What a superb issue to celebrate 25 years - with a different two-page format to the usual illustrated page, and the art of Jim Silke, Jose Gonzales, Louis Small jnr, , Michael Bair, Caesar, Jimmy Palmiotti, Al Williamson and Amanda Connor (to name only a few). When the book was first promoted to retailers they may have thought it was mainly reprints because they ordered far less numbers than usual, resulting in copies of the first edition becoming very scarce. To help fans find the issue Harris rereleased it 8 months later (see below right) but stamped the cover with a gold foil stamp to distinguish this issue from the earlier 'virgin' cover. |

Vampirella: 25th Anniversary Edition This was published one month after Sad Wings of Destiny and contained some classic Vampirella material by Forest Ackerman (the man who wrote Vampi's first story ever), Grant Morrison, Warren Ellis and James Robinson. And who can forget that classic Frazetta cover? Interestingly, Harris celebrated the 25th anniversary 27 years after Vampi's first appearance. The reason given (excuse?) was that they were ignoring the two years Vampirella was in limbo between the demise of Warren's publishing business and Harris purchasing the rights to publish her. Good story. |

Vampirella/Dracula: The Centennial What an issue, containing three special stories that don't hold back at all. This one-shot was published to coincide with the 100th anniversary of Bram Stoker's Dracula, and Vampirella sucks blood, Archie Goodwin meets Dracula and we just soak it all in ... Three superb covers for an outstanding one-shot make up this stand-out package. As you may have guessed - I like it. |
