After a couple of years in the wilderness - suddenly Vampirella was back (2000).  It seems you can't keep a good girl (vampire) down - thank goodness.

And wow - what a fabulous return.  This was the Vampirella of old, but new.  Incredible art - raunchy stories, and a vampiress who really knew how to sort out those bad guys for once and for all.

Just check out the Mike Mayhew cover on the right.  Is this not the Vampirella we had first seen in the Warren stories written by Archie Goodwin and drawn by Jose Gonzales?  You bet it was, only better.

Vampirella is harder, sharper and modern, yet still retains that compassion and seductive charm she has always had.

As the stories progressed we saw a very different edge and tone to the stories, sometimes better than in the past and sometimes seeming to lose its way a little.

And ... without a doubt ... this series has the longest series of model covers ever.
