Vampirella (2nd series) ashcans
Early Vampirella ashcans were more varied than the ones produced later, and some contained material unique to the ashcan. For example the Mystery Walk ashcan contained a novella introducing the Mystery Walk, the period of her life when Vampi began to learn of her true origin (or at least a truer origin than she had been aware of so far). The concept of ashcans seemed to really take off as we approached the end of Vengeance of Vampirella with an ashcan a month (it felt like) over the period February to June 1996. We were being set up for an ashcan to introduce the new series waiting in the wings - Vampirella Monthly. |
