To complement the Vampirella magazines Jim Warren and Warner books published six Vampirella books by Ron Goulart.  These books were originally based on the original Warren stories in Vampirella, although no credit was given to the original authors of the stories in each book.  The first three books were later reprinted in the United Kingdom by Sphere books.

The stories tend to hurtle along at breakneck speed, with very little time for characterization or depth.  Vampirella is often referred to as 'long-legged' and 'high-breasted', and seems to be remarkably knowledgeable about life in the 20th century for a girl from outer space.  Still, it's good fun and adds a further dimension to the Vampirella legend.

Bloodstalk

Published 1975.

Based on the stories Who Serves the Cause of Chaos, The Testing and Carnival of the Damned in Warren's Vampirella #9, #10 and #11.

The stories are well woven together, with the added in-joke of 'Uncle Warren' as a character whose soul was given to one of the seven demons of Chaos.  I just wonder who that referred to?
