AMCHALLENGE Route
AMCHALLENGE started at Prudhoe Bay, Alaska in August 1999. I then travelled down into Canada, entering the Yukon Territories, through British Colombia and into the United States, crossing the border into Montana. I followed the Rocky Mountains south, turning into Southern California before dropping into Mexico. Down through Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and into Panama. From Southern Panama I transported myself and my bike to Ecuador, therefore avoiding the notorious Darien Gap and troublesome Colombia. From Ecuador down into Peru, Chile and finally Argentina, where I dropped right down to the most southern tip, Tierra del Fuego, 5 months and 21,000 miles later.
