I'M OFF!!!!!!
Oh, yes, the day has finally arrived. Ok, it wasn't
the 1st as planned, but I think one week late on a venture of this size is not bad going.
I fly out to Anchorage on the 4th to meet the bike by the end of the week and then
ride up to Prudhoe Bay to start on the 7th. I had intended to take along a laptop
computer in order to update this site every 2 or 3 days. I have decided that this
will be more of a hindrance than a help so have therefore decided to post bulletins along
the way from cyber-cafes and friends' computers. This means that the timing of the
reports may be more erratic than planned, but will, none the less, be posted. This
page is to be dedicated to a description of the journey, the people I encounter, thoughts
and experiences. All this will be accompanied by photos.
Meanwhile preparations are all but complete. I have almost enough money for the entire trip and the fundraising is going to plan. Various sponsors and individuals have shown great enthusiasm for the project and have expressed it with help of some kind. Please see the sponsors and links page.
