John Mattison,
B.Sc. (Econ), MIPR
John is a former
financial journalist who has worked in corporate and financial
public relations for approximately 20 years, advising both nationally
and internationally known companies. Prior to establishing Mattison
Public Relations, he worked as a senior director in London for
the world's three largest public relations consultancies: Burson-Marsteller,
Hill & Knowlton and Shandwick. The
experience gained in these three major consultancies is now available
directly to clients without the associated bureaucracy and overheads
of a big organisation.
John's
experience in public relations is extensive. Clients have included
British Gas, British Rail, Forte, Group 4 Securitas, Hyder (formerly
Welsh Water), Racal, Slough Estates, Siebe, Vodafone and many
other blue chip organisations. In the professional services sector
he has advised Andersen Consulting, Coopers & Lybrand, Donaldsons,
Slaughter & May and Deloitte & Touche (Spicer & Oppenheim). Financial
services clients have included Goldman Sachs, General Accident,
Royal Bank of Scotland, Guardian Royal Exchange, the New York
Stock Exchange and Save and Prosper.
A
particular strength is his work for professional firms and knowledge-based
businesses in accountancy, law, management consultancy, software,
property, executive search and recruitment. This brings him into
regular contact with media who are interested in management topics
as well as those who cover corporate activity from purely the
financial perspective.
As
a journalist John worked for the Investors Chronicle, Evening
Standard and Sunday Times, where he became Investment Correspondent
and Deputy City Editor. He retains excellent media contacts. John
is a graduate in Economics from the London School of Economics
and is a former elected member of the Council of the Institute
of Public Relations.
