About the artist...
Kate Palmer was born in England in 1966. She studied Fine Arts at Central St Martins and did her MA at the Royal College of Art. She recently completed a two-year fellowship at Trinity College, Cambridge. She now lives and works in London.

Her work can be found in many private collections in the UK and America as well as corporate collections such as Unilever and Pearson.

Palmer's recent work is a symbiosis between painted and drawn elements. Different uses of overlaid rhythms provide tonal and linear, horizontal, vertical and diagonal texture.

Multi-shaded monotones let slices of light appear as if by chance, but nothing about Palmer's works is coincidental. The deliberate and painstaking design of her paintings is impossible to ignore.

In Palmer's works, the viewer feels compelled to enter into a relationship with the raw reality of her paintings. They convey a powerful definition of specific space and an off-centre perspective that dominate the room.
