Matlock's Floods
The River Derwent has flooded many times in the town's history

"The Varied Fortunes of a Derbyshire Spa" first appeared in "Country Life" on August 15, 1963. It is a lively and stimulating article about the Matlocks by Roy Christian and reproduced here with his very kind permission. It is complemented by the lovely b&w photographs of Frank Rodgers.
Arkwright and His Cotton Mill
Arkwright's Masson Mill was the third mill he built in the locality. It provided employment long after other mills had closed

Rosemary Lockie's GENUKI site, under Cromford. Lovely old postcard, labelled "The Tors, entering Cromford," the house shown is Scarthin Lodge, Matlock Bath. This was one of the lodges for Willersley Castle and the gates can also be seen in this picture.
