Printed by Percy Lund, Humphries &
Co Ltd. Collection of lovely views, plus some adverts.
This collection consists of twelve views, two pages of
adverts and the front cover (larger size) for you to enjoy.
There's a superb picture of Crown Square showing both
the tram about to depart and the shops that used to be
on the Hall Leys. There are two pictures of Matlock Bank,
both showing green fields where houses now are. The advertisers
were Asbury, Barnard, Barnwell, Hartley, Marsden, Phillips,
Potter, Pride and Statham. Incidentally, autochrome was
the first method of colour photography using coloured
starch pellets as a filter. (PC) |

The whole of the Matlock and Matlock Bath section has been transcribed
by the webmistress.
Web Mistress's note :
This is just one of several beautifully illustrated Tourist
Guides of Matlock and Matlock Bath that have been transcribed
for this website. I've kept the link here, although these pages
are not presented as images, because it was the first Guide
that I transcribed. To read the rest go to the Tourist
Guides section
