Florence Nightingale's name is not on this pedigree and nor are her parents. Here is some additional information which may be helpful to explain where and how they fit into this family:
- Mary EVANS and her husband William SHORE (Mary = William Shore on bottom of pedigree).
Mary married William SHORE of Tapton at Matlock in 1792. William was a Sheffield banker.
See
marriage reference
William and Mary had a son called William Edward SHORE (see notes
2, 3 & 4 below) and a daughter Mary SHORE (see note 5 below).
- William Edward SHORE, son of William and Mary SHORE, added the surname NIGHTINGALE to his surname in pursuance of the will of his great uncle, Peter NIGHTINGALE.
He became William Edward SHORE NIGHTINGALE in 1815.
- William Edward SHORE, who had become William Edward SHORE NIGHTINGALE, married Frances SMITH, the daughter of William SMITH, M.P. of Parndon, Essex.
They married 1 June 1818 at Embley in Hampshire and WESN died in 1874.
- William Edward SHORE NIGHTINGALE and his wife Frances had two
daughters.
The eldest was Frances Parthenope, who became Lady
Verney, and Florence, who became famous through her work during
the Crimean War.
- Mary SHORE, daughter of Mary nee EVANS and William, married
Samuel, son of William SMITH of Parndon.
Amongst the couple's
ten children was a son William, born in 1831, who assumed the name
of SHORE NIGHTINGALE. He married Louisa Ellen HUTCHINS (d.
of Samuel of Ardnagashel) in 1859 and died 1894. The couple had two sons,

All above information extracted from Bryan, pp.20-21.
