Bulmer and Co, p.417, Matlock Charles ROWLAND, living at Rockside in the 1871 census, advertised as a Professor of Hydropathy & Land Owner; he was born at Burton on Trent in Staffordshire. In 1871 his wife Sarah was living slightly down the hill as she was running Matlock House Establishment; she too stated that she was a Professor of Hydropathy & Land Owner; she was born at Cotton in the Elms, Derbyshire. They advertised in several Trades Directories including Kelly's 1864.
