Yes I know drawing graphs is a pain in the butt - but they tell you useful things AND you get lots of marks for good ones!

Key Features of Good Graphs


  • It is a line graph

  • The independent variable is along the bottom (X-axis)

  • The dependent variable is vertical (Y-axis)

  • The axes have good scales

  • Lines of best fit have been used

  • The graph has a title, labelled axes and a key if appropriate

Here are two graphs, the one on the left is a good one -  see if you can find the errors in the other one - there are at least 7 things wrong!
