The Tight Skirts Page Frequently Asked
Questions
Last updated 29th January 2005
There are some questions, comments or suggestions that appear in my
mailbox over and over. If you have something like that to put to me please
look here to see if it's been answered already. You might learn something
interesting anyway.
- “How do I know which pictures are new?”
On my front page,, all the latest pictures are listed along with descriptions of them and to which categories they belong. Of course the pictures are also added to the "theme" pages
as well as to each model's own "featured" page.
- “Why aren't the girls prettier?”
Because they're amateurs, not models or actresses hand-picked
for unearthly beauty. This page is about tight skirts anyway, not about
beautiful faces; if you want beautiful faces the links
page can help you find model-worship sites that will be more to your
taste.
- “Why are there no celebrities, models and actresses?”
I'm trying to run this page within the laws of copyright, unlike
many other picture pages. Old pictures out of forgotten magazines are one
thing, but as far as modern images go I stick as far as possible to pictures
of known origin which I have permission to post from the photographer and/or
model. This means no Claudia Smug or Naomi Annoying because I don't know
anyone who takes pictures of them. One of my friends knows a former webmaster
who was driven off the Internet by copyright-holders after he inadvertantly
posted some of their pictures. They threatened to fine him to his utter
ruin if he ever started any picture page again, as retribution for
his having used their images for which they were (quite legally) entitled
to "damages". I used to post potentially copyright images but
for this reason don't do it any longer. If you want to see celebrity pictures
and don't care for amateurs, my links page is
full of model-worship and celebrity fan sites which will be more suitable
for your taste than my own page.
- “Can I have a date with featured model X?”
Dating people on the Internet is potentially dangerous and I
don't really know any of my models well enough to act as a "reference"
recommending someone else to them. Nor do I think I know them well enough
to have any influence over them! But most importantly, almost all of them
are married or have boyfriends already. It's worth remembering that there's
someone behind the camera, and the smile on the model's face usually means
it's someone she loves; and that if a woman goes about looking or dressing
like, say, Lady Gemini or Anna or just about anyone on my pages really,
she can soon get all the male attention she wants and isn't likely to stay
single unless it's by choice!
- “Well, then, can you show me how to get a date
with a woman who wears a tight skirt?”
If I knew the answer to this one, I'd already have done it.
I've been running this page since Autumn 1996, and though I've made a lot
of friends through it, both male and female, it's not a way to acquire
a girlfriend however dressed.
Volunteer Dottie read this paragraph and added the following comments: "Well first you must find a woman that you are attracted to, ie. girlfriend and don't be shy about it, if you want to see her in a mini, simply request it from her, then complemnt her, tell her how beautiful you think she looks, but be nice, vulgar remarks will probably not go over well........ I should know, that is how my husband snared me in to this. "
- “Why isn't there a picture of model X
in the latest update?”
Because my models are volunteers and not working for me I only
get pictures when they have the time and the inclination to send something
in. If I run out of pictures of a particular model, then I can't post any
more until I get some more to post, and so her page will stop growing for
the time being.
- “Can you get more pictures of model X?”
When I get a batch of pictures in I put them up at one per week
instead of all at once, both to save myself work and to keep the readers
in suspense! All those I have and which fit my topic of tight skirts will
go up eventually. Others (for instance, non-tight skirt images) may be
posted at other sites, and if I know of such a place I'll give a link to
it on the model's page.
- “Will 'Biker' illustrate this story that I've
written?”
Biker is very aware of his talent and the demand for it, which
is considerable! He illustrated my story of Phyllis in exchange for some
computer equipment. Generally he does large projects like this only after
a bargain involving a fee or barter; he's too busy to take on illustrating
stories for nothing, however good they are. Please talk to him directly
for further information.
Added August 2004: Biker has now become the professional artist it was always obvious he had the talent to be, and is formally paid to draw pictures that are published as books. This makes it even less likely that he will take on illustrating a project just for the love of the story. You never know, though, what may catch his august imagination.
- “Can I have model X's email address?”
If the model wants her email address made public, it's on her
page; if it's not, then that means she doesn't want email from casual readers.
However, I'll forward any messages you want sent to her unless she's actually
forbidden me to do that, and if she eventually wants to pass on her address
or to take yours then I'll deal with it so that you can carry on your conversation
in private.
- “Where can I get the outfit that model X
is wearing in this picture?”
Not being a woman or transvestite I don't buy tight skirt outfits
myself! However, if you point me at the picture you mean (it's best to
give the exact page where you found it and the file name of the image)
I'll do my best to contact the model or accredited representative thereof
(i.e. her husband or boyfriend if she didn't send in the pictures personally)
and find out for you.
- “Are you interested in bondage?”
No.
- “Are you a humiliation/accidental nudity fetishist?”
No.
- “Why are some of the faces hidden?”
The models are amateurs; some don't mind being recognised, some
are worried about being spotted by friends and colleagues. In the latter
case, having the face cut off or blurred out is the price of my being allowed
to post the image. Since this page is about tight skirts and not faces,
I felt that was a price worth paying.
- “I don't think model X is attractive.
Why do you post her?”
There are two answers for this. Firstly, I already get enough
rude mail for turning down non-tight skirts and transvestites, and if I
start censoring women on the basis of how pretty they are I'm going to
get some very nasty replies indeed! Secondly, this page is about pleasing
the audience in general within my abilities, and not about pleasing particular
individuals. A woman that you don't find sexy may seem an incredible turn-on
to someone else, and nearly everyone I posted has at least one ardent fan.
Nor are the exceptions the ones you might think. As for me, if I didn't
like a picture I wouldn't put it up.
- “Will you add an extra theme of pictures about
this that I have in mind?”
I have enough themes to be getting on with now, I think - it
would be a lot of work to add a new one. It's also worth remembering that
before a theme is practical there have to be pictures to fit it - and three
ideas for themes to pick up, pictures of women in tight corduroy skirts,
tight wet dresses, and tight skirts worn with corsets, I didn't at the time they were suggested have a single
picture to fit so those themes can't even get started!
- “How do I go about getting pictures posted?”
Pictures have to be relevant: that is, they have to be of a
biological woman (sorry, no transvestites, and no arguments about that,
please! - it's my page) wearing a tight skirt. Pleated skirts, shorts,
or pictures in which a miniskirt is foreshortened into invisibility because
the model is sitting facing the camera are not eligible. Secondly, I want
to post images only with the model's permission. If you're sending in pictures
of yourself, that's fine. If you're volunteering a wife or girlfriend,
it is vital that you ask her permission beforehand - show her my
page and ask if she's happy to be there among the other models. Only if
she likes the idea should you tell me I can put the picture up. I will
then get the picture on the page as soon as possible, though as I update only once a month these days this means having to wait perhaps four weeks to see it appear if you submit it just after I have done an update. After that I'll post all the pictures which fit my terms of service, once per update, until I run out.
- “Have you seen this great joke I've found about
a woman in a tight skirt getting onto a bus?”
Yes, it's been sent in many times. I also knew it before I came
on the Internet - Benny Hill told it on TV, if you know who he is. You
don't need to send me its URL again.
- “I'm sure model X is a transvestite. Why
don't you remove her?”
I do my best to restrict this page to people who are women within
the sense meant by the International Olympic Committee. Ultimately, though,
I can't demand urine tests or genital examinations to obtain a "certificate
of femininity" the way they do, so in the end I have to take certain
things on trust. Unless I have good evidence that I have been deceived
I will not "pull" a model after I've decided in her favour. Some
people are convinced that a particular model is a transvestite while others
are sure she's the best thing in femininity since Veronica Lake/Lana Turner/Jane
Russell or whoever you might like to mention. In particular, on one day
I had someone declaring undying love for one of my models and someone else
writing in to say that she was "obviously" a transvestite within
a few hours! I am not going to get into arguments about this, particularly
not with the people who have generously let me use their images. If you
can prove that a model is a man, then send me the proof - but "I
think model X has too big hands to be a woman" isn't proof.
Proof is finding the same picture used with permission on a cross-dresser
site, or the like. If you want to argue with someone about this, then argue
with the model about it yourself - please do not expect me to argue your
case for you.
Cautionary tale for transvestite-spotters: I have a friend who is a cross-dresser himself. He thought that gave him a special insight, and "outed" one of my models as being a man in women's clothing. He made this clever deduction on the basis of one picture I had posted in the last update: when I pointed him at the photograph in her featured model page where she "gets her tits oot fer the lads", as Sid the Sexist would put it, he admitted that his special insight was wrong. Think about this before you decide you're cleverer than I am at spotting transvestites.
- “Why are there fewer pictures than there used to be?”
At its largest, this page contained about 115MB of material. My ISP gives me 50MB of free space; the rest had to be spread around. Early in 2002 I decided to invest in a large chunk of space on a web server to let me keep the whole page in one place. The hosting service which was best recommended to me gave me 250MB of space and 10GB of bandwidth (downloads) every month. I signed up, and the page ran for three days and then was closed down because in those three days my readers had sucked 11GB's worth of pictures out of it, using up my monthly allowance ten times faster than expected. After this I decided to restrict the page to what I could keep on Pipex' server, as they don't seem to mind how much bandwidth I use. When I took on an ADSL as well as a modem account with Pipex I was able to get access to 50MB of space for each, so the site now has about 100MB of material, not including the stories which are kept elsewhere on a server lent to me by a kind reader. As my webspace is limited, every update involves removing enough pictures to make room for it.
- “Will you send me on copies of the pictures of model X that have been removed?”
No. I'm a webmaster, not a webserver. You could, however, try writing to the model yourself. Many of them have their email address on the page and of course they all have copies of all their pictures! :-)
- “Who was the stunning model who wore beautiful knee-length pencil skirts in the Renault Clio advertisements on British TV?”
Her name was Hélène Mahieu, and after being asked this question many times I found the answer out only by accident. She was also in the dreadful film Guest House Paradiso.
- “What has happened to Shinyblouse? Will she be posting more pictures?”
Shinyblouse and her boyfriend have had a very hard time. I don't think I ought to go into details about what they said, but basically life has been knocking them about and they don't expect to post any more pictures in the foreseeable future. Shinyblouse asked me to take her pictures down for the same reason.
- “When will you next update the site?”
I no longer have time for the complex task of clearing out pictures to make room for an update, then preparing a set of new images, arranging the pages that they will appear on, and posting them - something which took six to eight hours per update, and which was no longer my favourite way of spending a weekend after devoting the whole week (and very likely the last weekend too) to working on the computer for my job. I will update the links and films pages from time to time, in particular to remove dead links, but not the picture galleries. See "Closing down the Tight Skirts Page" for more details.
- “I'm thinking of volunteering, but what if I change my mind and decide I don't want my pictures posted any more?”
I always take the line that the pictures sent in belong to the models, and not to me. If at any point you want your pictures removed, I will remove them. I have often had to do this, for various reasons, and expect to again. However, if you are at all worried about having your images reposted around the Internet, please do think of this before you send anything to me. There is no way I can stop readers copying pictures and sending them to other pages, though I do ask that they not do it. I use the pictures I am sent responsibly, but once I have posted them there is always a chance they will fall into the hands of those who aren't so careful.
- “Is there anyone who would go out with a twelve-year-old boy?”
Oh yes. A twelve-year-old-girl.
- “Does Jonnie_UK have a website of his own?”
Not as such, but at the time of writing (early in 2005) he has diverted his output, now that my page is no longer active, to the Teasing Tales and Lycra Lies group on Yahoo!. There are already several pictures posted there which I have never shown on this page.
If none of these answers your question, please write to me and I'll answer it as best I can!
The minority of insulting or obscene messages I get are thrown away unanswered. If you don't have anything sensible to say, don't say anything.
