When I was a youngster Sundays was always a day for a family outing and occasionally these outings involved a visit to interesting public transport. We visited Ongar to see steam before it handed over to electricity in 1957. We visited Aylesbury to see the Aylesbury to Amersham steam shuttle, when this stretch was the responsibility of London Underground.
Since this time my interest in transport around the world has developed and this had lead me around Europe and as far away as North America and Cuba. Cuban steam and scenary has to be seen to be believed. This is the worlds greatest working museum of North American steam engines, mainly Baldwin and ALCO locomotives, but there are others including a few European engines.
