EMCORE
Corporation offers a versatile portfolio of compound semiconductor
products for the solid-state lighting and other markets. Its
'integrated solutions philosophy embodies state of the art
technology, material science expertise and a shared vision
of customer's goals and objectives to be leaders and pioneers
in the rapidly growing world of compound semiconductors'.
Flagship
GaN-related product at EMCORE is GaNzilla. A fully configured
HB-LED production tool, the E300 GaNzilla provides exceptional
uniformity of thickness, doping, and composition within grown
epitaxial layers by utilizing EMCORE's patented TurboDisc®
technology, which uses a vertical rotating disc reactor to
produce high quality materials. Supporting a 300 mm wafer
carrier with multiple configuration options, the GaNzilla
offers EMCORE's proven expertise in high volume production
systems. In use around the world, EMCORE's TurboDisc tools
are capable of depositing a wide variety of materials, including
(but not limited to): GaAs, AlGaAs, InP, InGaAlP, InGaAsP,
GaN, InGaN, AlGaN, and SiC.
Incorporating
the latest advances in high volume compound semiconductor
material production, EMCORE's GaNzilla system provides users
with the highest throughput and lowest cost per wafer in the
industry for GaN materials. In addition, GaN epi produced
by the GaNzilla achieves brighter performance with lower power
consumption. More than 15 GaNzilla systems have been sold.
For example, in October, 2002, EMCORE sold an E300 GaNzilla
production tool to Highlink Technology Corporation of Taiwan.
