A FREE BRITAIN!



IDEAS - HOW TO GET BRITAIN TO BE A FULLY FREE SOCIETY!

This is a tricky one!

To start with I shall quickly outline what you do not do! No terrorism, in any cause, is moral. Defending yourself against and aggressor does not mean shooting members of our government! Engaging in such activity is rightly criminal and irrational too - it will not achieve your goals.

This is what you can do. Britain is at least 'kinda' democratic. Use your vote in favour of a party closest to a party of individual freedom, and remind them constantly that you desire such freedom - at every level, from local to national government. Remember our American forebears (as in forebears of freedom) had the advantage of 'starting over' in a new country. Such a revolutionary change in British social and political status is unlikely to say the least. We shall have to achieve true freedom one step at a time. Remember that Britain is closer to a free society than many in the world today.

In every issue you can think rationally about what this means for the individuals' affected. Whenever someone says something like "wouldn't it be good if x were taken care of?" tag on the question "at whose expense?". Politicians will listen to you, believe it or not. Remember you would not asking for favours or special treatment, just for the government to get off your back a little bit more, and more.

If you think its proper to support a scheme which requires funding by tax (whether it be schooling, the NHS, whatever) then say this to yourself, so as not to disguise the nature of it, "I am supporting a scheme which requires that many individuals' rights be violated by force, I am supporting the expropriation of private property for X purpose. I have not earned said property and have no right to it, I am stealing it, and I accept the truth of this and its consequences". If that seems harsh - it isn't - a society where some people are forced to provide for others is.

If the political party you support is broadly in favour of freedom, but actually holds policies in contradiction to it (like the conservative party) then tell them! A government which repeals controls and violation of individual rights to a great degree, but not entirely, is still better than one which ignores individual rights - and can be persuaded to take further steps.
