THE PRINCIPLES OF THE ISLT

u There is a spiritual dimension to life that is a source of guidance, inspiration and knowledge.
u Faith is a life-long  process that has existed from the beginning of history. Religious traditions are there to learn from, to question and be questioned. To go forward, we must first understand the ground on which we stand - the insights, discoveries and
mistakes that have come before.
u In the ecology of human traditions, each faith has its place and value within the whole.
u Every individual and community needs access to the spiritual centre of their own tradition and confidence in its worth.
u Tolerance is important but it needs to grow into genuine respect and celebration of diversity as life-giving.
u That which touches us from other times and cultures is more than knowledge; it is wisdom, and it begins to unveil what is at the heart of human existence.
