The County Museum
Service has produced the following Field Archaeology project reports :-
Archaeological Observations of:18,Bleachfield Street, Alcester, Slatters Barn, School Road, Salford Priors and 28, Birch Abbey, Alcester.
Archaeological evaluations of land at Cold Comfort Lane, Alcester and St. Benedict R.C. High School, Alcester.
Hereford and
Worcestershire Museum has recently transferred to Warwickshire Museum a Romano-British
broach from Alcester.
Various events being held in the area:-
Warwick Museum
are holding open days at Chesterton Windmill on the 14th and 15th September - no booking
is required.
A lecture by
Philip Wise "Warwickshire at the time of the Norman Conquest" is being held on
Thursday, 10th October 1996 7.30 - 9.00 at the museum: please book in advance. This is
linked to an exhibition 'A MEDIAEVAL REALM' which runs at the museum from 3rd August to
26th October.
On 9th November
1996 there is an 'Introduction to the County Record Office, 2.OO-3.30:please book in
