'Faces of India' is an exhibition of work by the distinguished local artist, Raj. It provides a striking visual insight into the customs and costumes of India, covering all the major religions and cultures of the Sub-Continent.

Om Prakash Rajan (his full name) was a student of the late Sobha Singh, a leading light in the 20th century history of Indian art. He has enjoyed a very successful career working for Mary Quant and Max Factor, amongst others. He also produced work for the leading Indian press publisher, Milap & Partap. His work is t6 be found in collections in India's royal palaces. He has also painted portraits of the former Soviet leaders, Khruschev and Bulganin.

Critics have described Raj's figurative paintings as being "portraits of the soul". In them, he captures the colour and richness of India in all its divers.ity. Many of the original paintings will be for sale, as well as prints and postcards, and Raj himself will be in residence for much of the period to talk about his work.
