Gaining selection for the University of Hertfordshire 's Annual Open Exhibition has been a challenge for both artists. Rony had an oil painting accepted and sold in 2003 but last year neither were successful.
With its own art faculty, where Joyce is a student on the Wednesday print course, the UH Open Exhibition sets a high standard and includes a strong emphasis on installation art, multi-media, digital images and photography. This year Joyce has been experimenting with carborundum prints and submitted three – all of which were accepted. Around 260 entries were submitted
The Margaret Harvey Gallery is at 7 Hatfield Road St Albans , Herts and the Open Exhibition 2005 runs until 23 December. Normal opening hours are 11am to 5pm Wednesday to Saturday, but with the approach of Christmas the gallery will also be open on Monday 19 and Tuesday 20 December.
