Play & Learn

By far the best way to improve at bridge is to play. If you know the basics of bridge, why not come and join one of our weekly improver games. Not only do you get the enjoyment and benefit of playing, you will have access to expert tuition as well.

Please do not be shy about coming - even if you have only played a little with family or friends or done a few lessons; even if it was a long time ago, and you feel you have forgotten everything. However much or little you know, we will welcome you and get you back into the swing. All the games are hosted by experienced bridge teachers who will offer advice and support as needed.

These games are very informal. Just turn up and join an available table. There is no need to book and you pay only for the sessions you attend.

As far as possible you will be allocated to a table with players of a similar standard. Come with a bridge partner if you have one, but single players are welcome and everyone is guaranteed a game at all sessions. Many of our players go on to play in regular club games.

    NOVICE DUPLICATE
    BRIDGE

Duplicate bridge is the modern form of competitive bridge played in clubs. The deals are played at several tables and you try to make a better score than the other players who hold the same cards. The partnership that makes the best score across all the deals wins the tournament. Duplicate bridge is challenging and fun!

Young Chelsea Bridge Club in Earls Court runs a programme of Sunday afternoon novice duplicate bridge tournaments that is highly recommended for developing players. You play with the same partner throughout but single players are welcome and will be paired up on the day.

The sessions run from 2pm till 5.30pm and table money is £6. They will be held on the following dates (all 2012):

    • Sunday 9th September
    • Sunday 14th October
    • Sunday 4th November
    • Sunday 18th November
    • Sunday 2nd December
    • Sunday 16th December
