Learn Bridge in a Weekend – Earls Court, SW5
Let’s Play Bridge!
Aces Hi! is a lively London-based network for learning and playing bridge. Beginners, refreshers and more experienced players all catered for. We meet in different parts of London. We think bridge should be fun – we use congenial venues where you can get a drink while you play. We offer classes for absolute beginners – see below – but if you know the basics, even at a most rudimentary level, just show up at one of our games and you will be made welcome amd we will soon get you improving and having fun.

If you’ve recently done beginner lessons, with us or elsewhere, or learnt some time ago and are thinking of restarting, we are the group for you. We will help you learn and progress; advice is available as needed at all times. More experienced players are equally welcome. Many of our players graduate to regular club games.

Singles, couples and groups all welcome. Single players can come without a bridge partner and are always guaranteed a game.

Our weekly programme includes:

  • Social bridge games and practice every Wednesday at Reebok Sports Club London, Canada Square, London E14 5ER from 6.30pm. There is no fixed starting time. To join in, just turn up any time after 6.30pm and join an available table. We play till about 9.30pm when the club closes. Click to Playing Opportunities for more info about the venue. The host is Ned Paul. Just come or email, text or phone Ned first if you prefer - 07944 768643.
  • The chance to try duplicate bridge, the most popular form of bridge in clubs. We are linked with two novice friendly duplicate bridge clubs, the Ruff Club in Camden NW1 (Fridays) and Putney Bridge Club SW15 (Mondays). You will need to know the basics to join these games – ask for guidance if you are unsure. Partners found for single players.

The Ruff Club also has its own ‘practice night’ where you turn up for an informal game, join an available table and receive help and advice as required. This is at the Princess of Wales, 22 Chalcot Road, NW1 8LL every Wednesday from 7.15pm onwards. Click to Playing Opportunities for more info about the venue. The host is Barry Lowe.
