Yours truly!
Hello. My name is Alastair and I am a Carlisle United supporter. There, done it. What a relief ! It is perhaps just fate that I happen to support Carlisle United, but if that is the case, so be it. My addiction is proving impossible to shake off, and I don't think the numerous treatments I have undergone are working. It didn't help that I chose to set up this site in the summer of 1995. It takes up a lot of my spare time but I see it as a worthwhile exercise. For those of you who sometimes seem confused, this is NOT the official club site, although I am proud of what I have achieved with it and hopefully, it brings the goings on at Brunton Park closer to those fans who are far away from home. For those of you who are interested, I put together the pages using a combination of Front Page Express, Word 97 and Wordpad. I also utilise Excel 97, 1-2-3 97 and Approach 97 packages for storing statistics. My hardware consists of a Gateway P5-166 multimedia computer together with Umax A4 scanner and HP Deskjet colour printer. I've supported the Blues since the age of seven. I am a season-ticket holder in the East Stand. I sit next to my father, and a load of old grumpy blokes who moan a lot, no matter how well we're doing.
in association with
news and star The site went into partnership with the local newspaper in December 1998. This means I have access to all their coverage of Carlisle United, including articles, interviews, match reports and pictures. These are used extensively on the site, but I have other sources of info as well. In the near future, it is hoped that the partnership will be extended to include near-instant reports from games, pictures available before publication in the paper itself and updates direct from the News & Star journalists via e-mail.
