AN EXCITING SERVICE BROUGHT TO YOU
BY CUFC ONLINE! REVENUES RAISED GO TO THE CUFC SUPPORTERS' TRUST - HELP PRESERVE THE FUTURE OF YOUR FOOTBALL CLUB What is it? An SMS (Short Message Service) text news and results service for Carlisle United supporters that lets you receive instant updates via your GSM Mobile phone. The service is to be re-launched for the new season and will be the fastest and easiest way to get the latest CUFC developments, speculation and rumours direct to your mobile. How does it work? You sign up for the service on a web page and give all your details, including your method of payment and once you are added to the service, you will get up to 20 CUFC news stories a month sent direct to your phone via SMS. In addition, you will get live score updates at half-time and full-time for all Third Division games. And now there are other services available. You can opt to take just CUFC news at a reduced cost or get an enhanced results service which covers all eight divisions in England and Scotland for a basic £5 per month. How do I pay? You can pay online via credit/debit card or you can complete a form and pay by cheque. Credit card payments are charged in dollars and converted at the current rate. What sort of services are provided? The three available services are as follows (click the links to sign up):- PLATINUM (£5 per month/£14.50 per quarter/£45 per year) Half-time and Full-time score updates for all EIGHT English and Scottish League divisions GOLD (£3 per month/£8.50 per quarter/£30 per year) Up to 20 CUFC news stories a month PLUS half-time and full-time score updates for all Division Three matches. SILVER (£2 per month/£6 per quarter/£24 per month) Up to 20 CUFC news stories a month More info on this
service is available at the following web page: Will it work anywhere? Yes, anywhere in the world as long as your mobile phone supports GSM. So if you are in the middle of the Australian outback or halfway up a tree in Kenya, you'll still be able to keep in touch with the Cumbrians! Why isn't it free? It would be nice to provide the service for free, but the cost of sending SMS messages would make this impractical. The fee, which is very modest, covers the cost of providing the service and enables it to be viable in the long term. It is the cheapest form of SMS football service in the UK. No other service comes close in terms of value for money. How will it help the football club? Depending on the service chosen, a certain amount of the revenue raised will go the Carlisle & Cumbria United Independent Supporters' Trust (CCUIST). The highest percentage comes from the Gold and Silver services that carry CUFC news updates. If you have yet to join the trust, you can still contribute to the share fund by signing up for this service, and if you have already joined, you can increase your contribution with this inexpensive method. |
