Slowly but surely, items are being assembled:
Regular visitors will notice that this site is getting less unconstructed, but still needs some tidying up. Now that PIPEX Dial have doubled our disk space for Web pages, perhaps a little restrained blowing of bells and ringing of whistles will appear before too long!
There's a lot more work and research to be done, but besides the links above, for now, you can get to Bristol from here. Or perhaps you would like to read about the Bristol Oscar Winners, Cary Grant, (real name Archibald Alexander Leach) who was born in Bristol in 1904, and Aardman Animation , who made The Wrong Trousers, A Grand Day Out and Creature Comforts. Congratulations to Aardman for the four British Animation Awards they received on 8 February 1996 for their latest Wallace and Gromit epic A Close Shave , and to Nick Park at Aardman for their third Academy Award on 25 March 1996. Incidentally, Bristol City Council are about to erect a plaque in honour of Cary Grant at Fairfield Grammar School in Montpelier, even though he was expelled! And Aardman get their plaque in Gas Ferry Road. Recent plans to name Wallace Walk and Gromit Grove on a new housing estate have met with some controversy!
Thanks to all at The Beeb who got so many of us going on the Internet, and Unipalm PIPEX for organising the web pages for members of the BBC Networking Club, now moved to Pipex Dial .
At the end, there are some details about the author of
these pages, and the obligatory list of
likeable links, which now include three interactive search facilities, courtesy
of Infoseek, AltaVista and Whowhere.

If you are lost, and were really looking for The French Connection, then the Internet Movie Database should be able to help!
