OTHER MAIN PRESENTERS
Ben Philcox
- Presenter
The
newest voice on Pirate FM102, Ben Philcox is also a VERY
competent DJ whose mixing skills are such that he recently
provided the music for a party at the home of a legendary
show biz personality.
Ben
presents Pirate Gold overnight 7 days a week and mixes much
of the music for the Saturday evening 'Party Zone'. Pirate
FM102 is Ben's first experience of on-air presentation,
but is already showing the ability to be an increasingly
important part of Pirate FM's presentation team.
Alan Gates
- Weekend Breakfast Presenter

Pirate FM's Managing Director has a quotation
on his office wall: 'It's easier to make an interesting
person a presenter than make a presenter interesting.'
Alan Gates is an interesting person. A magician, a children's
entertainer and a local restaurant owner, Alan is now
sharing his own brand of radio magic with South West
radio listeners every Saturday and Sunday morning.
Alan was the first winner of Pirate FM's 'Search For A Star' and has
now been broadcasting for over two years. He often sits
in on the weekday breakfast show if Phil Angell has
time off, but a full time commitment to radio would
leave a lot of his restaurant customers hungry.
Alan Fleckney
- Weekend Presenter

Alan
Fleckney has been broadcasting in the South West for
around 15 years. Currently he is the regular Saturday
Afternoon and Sunday morning presenter but also covers
for any presenter who is on holiday or sick.
Alan's
best kept secret is that he lives with a menagerie
of animals in his coastal home. No wonder that Alan
has no desire to leave the South West. Alan Fleckney
is also the presenter most likely to be seen at a
Pirate FM outside event. Live on stage Alan is very
much in his element so watch out for him - especially
in Spring and Summer.
Neil Caddy
- Presenter and the UK's fastest Management Trainee
Neil
Caddy joined Pirate FM102 as a Management Trainee.
He had worked in Accounts, Airtime Control and Sales
but it was increasingly obvious that he had the voice
for radio. Having read news items, prerecorded community
features and What's On's, he took the plunge (Pirate
FM102's area only escapes being an island by about
4 miles) and moved into presentation. Currently he
is the weekday evening presenter.
There
is, however, another side to Neil Caddy. Last year
he was the UK's second fastest British athlete over
a mile and the AAA Silver medallist at 1500 meters.
2000 will be a critical year for Neil Caddy in the
world of athletics, but in the last two years Neil
has ensured that whatever happens he has a career
in radio to fall back on.
