'69'or'club69' as it's often called,(well it really is just called '69',as when we started it we were getting some flyers done,and had to decide there and then on a name,and after a few bad suggestions,we decided every other club had a name, we'll have a number).Whether it's called after a record,sex or a trojan skinhead revival,you may never know.neither may we. Whats in a name anyway (f*** all).It's more about the content..Ithink in our 5 year history we've only ever done two flyers. Recently undertook a p.r campaign which involved leaving plants in various establish grown and planted by ourselves,with stickers on announcing some up and coming guest..This was more of a rebellion against the ecological carnage caused by clubs printing thousands of flyers,only for most of them to land up in the rubbish bins.(Trash if your american) of shops and pubs up and down the country,in fact ,all over the world. Think about it with our plants ,we just go back round every now and then,change the stickers and water them.'69' has one policy,which is music. Music was our first love,and it will be our last,music of the future and music of the past.(in the words of the late and great barry manilow.He's not dead yet,but he's not known for his time keeping). we have got the reputation of being an underground techno club.It is a truly underground club,as it's in the basement ,and the music we play could probably be classed as underground,but really we're just a music club,with a passion for things a bit diffrent.we try and keep the club and the music fresh,playing various genre's of electronic music.Every week,we try,in diffrent ways to reach that pinnacle of musical delight,and most of the time we like to think that point has been reached, wether by ourselves or by a guest dj,who has been employed for your appreciation. Your regular rotators/muffin mixers/djs? are martin and wilba, who mix it up onthe wheels of steel and play the platters that matter etc. They are otherwise known as djs pish and shite.(a kind of rebellion again,against dj's who big themselves up). They are joined on a relatively regular basis by various Guests . We're not going to go on about how good the club is as we're not into self narcissism,it's up to you to come along and see what you make of it yourself.It costs a fiver to get in.The club has a Membership scheme in operation (Which costs £2.00 for life membership),which gaurantees your entry entitles you to members discounts and you will be issued with a membership card and receive regular Newsletters with information on whats happening at the club,record reviews, and an assortment of other pish.The club is not elitist in any way,as we want anyone to come along that may be into the music or in to good night out,or hopefully both.(As long as your not a bamstick you should get in).
