"A miserable January day in 1988: 92245, 3845 paired with a tender marked for 2859, and 80150 stand in desolate isolation. Mountains of chairs and splintered sleepers from the adjacent tracks bear witness to the impending closure of Woodham Brothers' yard. This scene provided a perfect opportunity to revisit the idea of a twelve foot canvas. Begun nearly six years later at the beginning of October 1993, the picture was finally completed at the end of March in the following year"

Brian Sefton completing the latest painting in The Barry Collection
The latest painting to be completed by Brian Sefton is shown above in its final stages - a detail of 5538's 1948 British Railways logo, ravaged by rust. This painting now takes its place in The Barry Collection.

Next on the list for Brian is a painting in the format of the Sir Nigel Gresley and Bottomley's Dream paintings - the famous 60532 Blue Peter. The painting has just been completed and we hope to produce a limited edition print of Blue Peter very soon. Click on the image below for a more detailed view.
