Welcome to the Three Peaks Challenge home page.
These pages are updated every month to include the latest information regarding the 1998 Three Peaks Challenge.

In aid of
The Fire Services National Benevolent Fund
and the Ben Nevis Footpath Restoration Fund.
Plus many local charities nominated by participating teams.
The Three Peaks Challenge is one of many well known, annual challenges, open to all-comers. Whilst other notable organisations raise money for a specific charity the British Fire Service Mountain Challenge only requires that you form a team and abide by our country code of conduct. As a result many smaller, local charities have been able to benefit from the organisations activities.

Latest: All challenges have recently come under press scrutiny after one or two events organised by the charity sector and other commercial interests created a climate of hostility towards outdoor challenges, especially the Three Peaks. It would be unfair to lay the blame for the steadily growing chorus of objection against those organisations as many individual teams do this particular challenge and whilst the majority abide by the codes of the countryside there are a number who do not. Whilst our Codes of Practice go some way to informing teams of their responsibilities, they do not advise on the overall organisation and preparation. A new 3 peaks faxpack information pack is available for residents of the United Kingdom on 0336 416061, and is charged at 50p per minute - normal call duration 2-6 minutes.
We ask all Three Peaks Challengers to pay particular care to the driving sections between mountains. In addition, not to park inconsiderately at the Borrowdale or Wasdale Head side of Scafell Pike, and to remember that their are residents and visitors alike trying to sleep so avoid the night hours or go quietly about your business in these areas.

If you are a member of the emergency services, the armed forces, or part of a large British company and would like further details on the British Three Peaks then go to our submit page
