News Update Jun - Aug 2003

A different challenge: Bill Stobie and partner Alison are targeting a 100 mile challenge - completing races that total 100 miles - to raise funds for a special medical charity. All being well the Capital City challenge should complete their target.

Harmeny / Pentland Runners AGM:

It is the club AGM on Monday 29th September, 7.45 at Currie Rugby club (Malleny Park, Balerno). We'd like to formally incorporate the jogging side into the club, and I'm looking for volunteers to come onto the committee to help keep the momentum growing. All Harmeny / Pentland Runners are invited to attend and hear about all our activities over the past year and plans for the coming year. (I also hope to see lots more folk joining in the coming year.)

Coaching / jogleaders: Would anyone like to become a jogleader? Scottish Athletics have published their autumn programme of courses, and it would be good to have a few more formally qualified jogleaders with us.

Well done to everyone who did the Edinburgh Marathon.
The organisers are reported to be considering teams of 4 to run it next year as a 4 x 10k (approx) relay, so there's a target for everyone who would like to be a part of it, but couldn't manage a 26.2 mile run (like me).

A few folk have asked about winter runs ... well, there is a cross-country fixture list just published.
