The Nokia 6210e takes you to a new level of freedom, because with it you no longer have to go looking for a cash machine, a ticket counter or a post office either. You can book tickets, check timetables, pay bills, check your e-mail or see the stock market closing prices. You have all the connections you need - from phone to fax to e-mail - in your pocket. These services are subject to network support, to see which services Orange offer click here.
You can also use the Nokia
6210e as a high speed wireless modem. The Nokia 6210e has built-in data
communication capability, and a built-in infrared (IrDA) port. It supports
GSM data transfer speed up to 28.8 kbps. The optional data cable DLR-3
connects your Nokia 6210e to your PC's serial (RS-232C) port for wired
communication where this is necessary, again without the need for additional
software. Only £44.99 from Freedom Phones. (Or £29.99 for the
non-original equivalent).
Predictive text input
There
are only 12 keys for numbers and letters on a mobile phone keypad. So it's
not really designed for writing all the different numbers and letters you
need when you write e-mail or a note in your diary.
So, to make it faster, Nokia
have made the keypad smarter, using Tegic's T9 predictive text input. The
Nokia 6210e has a built-in dictionary. Each time you press a key - one
press per letter in the word you want to write - the Nokia 6210e continually
compares the word so far with the words in the database. It selects the
most likely word for the letters you have written.

Extra large display
The Nokia 6210e is not only for speaking, it's also for reading and writing. So the display is BIG. It's also sharp, with 60 rows of 96 pixels, so it can show large and small fonts, bold or regular, as well as full graphics. Great for services, messages and icons, even better for games.
Phone book
The Nokia 6210e has memory for up to 500 numbers, using some or all of the following fields: fixed, home, office or mobile phone or fax numbers and postal, email address for each person.
And there's more. You can save up to 150 SMS messages in the memory, in various folders such as the inbox, outbox, or your own defined folders. It will also store 50 picture messages. Picture messages can be sent to other Nokia phones such as the 3210, 8210 and 8850.
Calendar
This facility vastly enhances what was available on the Nokia 6150e and nk702. You can view the calendar in the Nokia 6210e by day, week or month. You can see complete details of your schedule and calendar notes for the day. The week view shows icons for the jobs you have to do each day. You can save hundreds of notes in the calendar.
High Speed Circuit Switched Data (HSCSD) Orange Data Access
High Speed Circuit Switched Data, HSCSD, is a new technology now being implemented in several GSM cellular networks. HSCSD makes it possible to use several time slots simultaneously when sending or receiving data, resulting in connections speeds up to 28.8kbps, three times quicker than traditional mobile connections. More Info
In a cellular network offering
basic single-slot service, you get to use one slot in, one slot out, no
matter if you are talking, faxing, emailing, or surfing the Internet. Several
GSM networks are currently being upgraded from 9.6 to 14.4 kb/s, an increase
of 50%. By combining two timeslots together you get twice the speed: 28.8kbps.
In the UK only Orange is upgrading, in many countries there is at least
one network with the supporting technology, so you can still benefit from
the quicker speeds while roaming abroad; and these calls will be charged
at the same flat rates as normal roaming calls:
Austria, Belgium, Denmark,
Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Iceland, Isle of Man, Israel,
Kyrgyzstan, Italy, Jersey, Latvia, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Singapore,
Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey
The Nokia 6210e is the World's first handset to support HSCSD. Everyone can use 14400bps for no additional cost, calls at 28800bps are charged at a slightly higher flat rate, to reflect the increased bandwidth being used on the network and made available to you.
Orange High Speed Data Access is now available with all Orange tariffs, including OVP.
Existing users of high speed data prior to May 1st 2001 continue to be billed a monthly access fee, and normal call charges (but restricted to tariff choice). These promotional prices will last until 12 months from when you activated high speed data.
NEW: 100% tax relief on new internet mobile phone purchases
From the Government's budget announcement in March 2000: "Small businesses that invest in Information and Communication Technology equipment (computers, software and internet-enabled mobile phones) over the three years from 1 April 2000 will be able to claim 100% first year capital allowances, thereby getting immediate relief on the whole cost of their investment." N.B. Check with your accountant for full details and elegibility.
Two lines, one phone
Using Orange's unique Line Two service You can have two lines and two different phone numbers from just an extra £5 a month, each with separate ringing tones and call forwarding options, in one Nokia 6210e. So you can have one line for business and the other for family and friends - and use only your private number when you are on holiday, billing can even be kept seperate for each line to make accounting for your calls even easier! Everyday 50 is now available on Line Two for under £10 monthly!
Nokia inductive loop brings mobile communications to hearing aid users Nokia LPS-1 is an easy to use device for smooth interaction between a hearing aid and a digital mobile phone. Hearing impaired people have previously been unable to use digital mobile phones due to interference caused by the digital signal. Now for the first time there is a solution to overcome this difficulty in an easy way. The device consists of a wireloop which goes around the user's neck and connects to the bottom of the mobile phone. The loopset transmits speech from the phone to the hearing aid in the ear. The product has a built-in microphone and therefore provides full hands free operation for the user. The Nokia LPS-1 is the first product of its kind in the world. The Nokia LPS-1 is now available for £69.99.
