• Advantages: Combining style with intelligence Ericsson's top of the range WAP handset is extremely slim and follows the new style from Ericsson of Sweden. High quality sound and lots of features including voice dial, voice memos and WAP make this a very competent and stylish handset.
• Disadvantages: The omission of Tegic's T9 predictive text input technology is a great pity, this would complete an otherwise excellent phone.
• Alternatives: Nokia 7110e with WAP, or without: Nokia 8210e. If you only just want a data only device, the Nokia Cardphone 2 with mobile data at 28800bps is ideal

Power: The Ericsson R320s is one of the first GSM mobile handset to use revolutionary lithium polymer battery technology, this gives all the benefit from a lithium battery but are even smaller and lighter. The unique real-time power meter gives an indication in hours and minutes of your standby and talk time remaining. Please note that the standard battery is Lithium Ion. Games: Tetris and Solitaire Vibrating Alert:Noise or no noise around you? Regardless of situation, the R320s vibrating alert is guaranteed to ring a silent bell. Profiles:personalisation with 6 profiles with automatic intelligent switching. e.g. switching to "home" profile when dropped into the desktop charger. Choice of 18 ringtones, and 4 personal ones. New Menu System:Ericsson have used the brand new user interface first seen on the T28s for the R320s, using a mixture of graphics using the R320s is like operating your favourite computer software. Voice Dialling and Voice Answer: Voice Dialling allows you to dial up to ten different phone numbers using your voice. Program the phone with voice labels to chosen numbers in the phonebook. To use the function press the Yes button or the top volume button to activate it, then state the name of the person you want to call. To use Voice Answer, you program the voice tages for "answer" and "busy" in the settings. To answer or "busy" calls to answerphone you just say these words to the phone when it rings. Voice & Code Memo: The voice memo lets you record up to 92 seconds of notes for yourself, even during a conversation. Voice Control allows total handsfree operation and you can speak the "answer" or "reject" commands to the phone. The code memo is a unique new feature from Ericsson which lets you relocate all your assorted PIN codes in to one place: the encrypted code memo bank in the R320. You now only need to rember two PIN codes: your SIM card PIN and the Code Memo PIN. Calendar: The R320s can keep track of your day to day activites under three classifications: meetings, phone calls and general reminders. You can also synchronise this with your desktop P.I.M. using the supplied software from Ericsson. Mobile Data, Email, Fax, etc: Like other high end phones the R320s has fully built in data, and can communicate with other phones or devices using infra-red. All you need are the right drivers, supplied on CD ROM or from the Ericsson website. Using Orange's unique Line Two service You can have two lines and two different phone numbers, each with separate ringing tones and call forwarding options. So you can have one line for business and the other for family and friends - and use only your private number when you are on holiday, billing can even be kept separate for each line to make accounting for your calls even easier!
