Orange now covers more than 99% of the UK population and is still growing.

The number of Orange base stations in the UK will continue to increase rapidly and already Orange has more base stations than any other mobile network in the UK. Around 10,000 are expected by 2001.
  • Orange is the only network offering a network performance promise, if you are cut off mid call by the Orange network and then redial the same number within 5 minutes up to 1 minute of talktime will be credited to your next bill. (excludes Just Talk)

Latest Results
The surveys show the percentage of test calls connected and completed successfully, and were independently audited following tens of thousands of calls per network. Data was compiled from vehicles driving in 70 towns and cities plus major A roads and motorways.

Coverage figures for Vodafone and Cellnet apply only to boosted carphones - Orange and one2one quote coverage for ordinary handportable users. Data for number of BTSs from Orange website. Roaming on a GSM1800 network can be done with any Orange phone, while roaming to a GSM900 network requires the use a dual-band phone or a standard GSM900 phone with your Orange SIM card. Roaming in North America requires any UK user to use a GSM1900 or triband handset. Number of base stations is taken from Orange estimates.
