• 0800 freephone:
• often used for direct response to advertising campaigns on sales lines. Also suited to after-sales customer service, or as a private number for field-based employees to call in to the office with toll-free.
• No cost to the caller

• 0845 local-rate:
• suited for sales or customer service where you want to provide a "local" service across the UK from just one or a few offices
• Local rate charges to the caller
• Business pays part of the cost of all calls received
  
  
• 0870 national rate:
• Offers the benefit of having one single number which will not change regardless of office re-location, for example. Gives out a professional image of a reputable nationwide company.
• National rate charges to the caller

• No line rental, or connection charges for the basic services.
• Per second billing, with a very low minimum call charge.
• Call charges around 50% cheaper than BT.
• To use these services you need at least one phone line to receive calls on, but you can even have thousands of lines, which can be situated nationwide or even internationally.
