Access to pubs by train

The railway line that runs from Carlisle in the north to Barrow in Furness in the south offers many opportunities to try good real ale, including some rarities. Unfortunately, there are no trains on Sundays south of Whitehaven, and evening trains back can be quite early. Close to the stations are:

Workington - George lV
Whitehaven - The Bransty Arch and the Candlestick,
St Bees - Queen's Hotel
Drigg - Victoria
Ravenglass - Ratty Arms
and just outside the branch area but well worth a visit:
Foxfield - Prince of Wales

Changing to the Ravenglass and Eskdale line, at Ravenglass, opens up more possibilities.

Eskdale Green - George lV
Dalegarth - Brook House and Burnmoor Inn

Main line telephone enquiries may be made at 08457 48 49 50
