1. Why you were looking forward to going to the ground (or not as the case may be)

I hadn't planned on going, but it turned out Rotherham were having a 'Fans Day' to celebrate their takeover, and all adult tickets were a fiver! The opportunity was too good to pass up, as sitting at home doing nothing was my other option!

2. How easy was your journey/finding the ground/car parking?

Went on the coach, seemed straightforward enough. There was a specific away car park just outside the away end.

3. What you did before the game pub/chippy.... home fans friendly?

Took a quick walk around to the Millmoor Lane side, and went in the Supporters Club Shop for my badge. The team mascots were in there, turns out Rotherham give both kid mascots a medal as a reminder of the day. Nice touch I thought.

4. What you thought on seeing the ground, first impressions of away end then other sides of the ground.

Its been reputed by friends who have been, as a dump! It certainly looks like one, but there was something about it I liked! The away end was nowhere near as bad as people have made out, good view barring the pillars (which I'm used to at Goodison!) and acoustically, probably the best stand I've been in.

5. Comment on the game itself, atmosphere, stewards, pies, toilets etc..

Hardly Wigan's best performance of the season, Rotherham outplaying us, but lacking any cutting edge. The game was a sell out, and the atmosphere was very good. There were a gang of kids in the corner of the Millmoor Lane giving us verbals, some good banter there for the whole game! The stewards were great, we stood up for almost the entire game, some even in the aisles, but they were tolerant. 25 minutes left, Wigan introduced Gary Teale, who just hasn't performed this season. His first touch was the opening goal, a tap in after Roberts set him up. The atmosphere in the away end got going then, 15 solid minutes of 'Teale will tear you apart!' In the last minute, Roberts put away another goal from a long Filan clearance to tie the game up.

6. Comment on getting away from the ground after the game

The buses were out very quickly, and were home by 7ish.

7. Summary of overall thoughts of the day out

A great little ground. I prefer old grounds to new ones, it will be a shame to lose Rotherham to League 1 next season.

Are you an away or general football fan who has visited Millmoor recently?
If so why not submit your own review of the ground and general day out?
