The Ground Like? |

On one side of the ground is the Main Stand, which
is a classic old looking stand. It runs in length for around half the size of
the pitch and straddles the half way line. It is a covered stand, with a
seating area which is elevated above pitch level, so that spectators
need to climb a set of stairs to enter the stand. On each side of the stand
there is a windshield, to help protect fans from the sea breeze. The stand is
slightly setback from the pitch and hence there is a small terrace area in front
of the seated area. The only disappointment is that there are a couple of modern looking floodlight pylons which are situated directly in front
of the stand at the side of the pitch. Opposite is a very
small uncovered terrace,
which is only a few steps high. This area is known
affectionately as the 'car wash terrace', as it is the only uncovered area of
the ground and has a car wash situated behind it. Again has a set of four floodlights located along the front of it. At
one end is the impressive looking North Stand. This good sized terrace is
covered and has windshields to either side. Opposite is the smaller Umbro Stand,
also a covered terrace with several supporting pillars in front. The ground is also used for Blackburn Rovers reserve games. Top Of Page

The Club
has
announced their intention to leave Christie Park and move to a new stadium
in the Westgate area of Morecambe. The new stadium will have a capacity of
6,000. If things go to plan then the Club could be kicking off in their new
home for the start of the 2009/10 season.

| What Is It Like
For Visiting Supporters? |
| Fans are primarily
housed in the Umbro Stand at one end of the ground. This covered terrace can
accommodate around 1,500 fans. A small number if seats are also made
available in the Main Stand. Unfortunately there are a number of supporting
pillars running across the front of this stand which may impede your view.
Catering is provided by the obligatory burger van, although there is a handy
chip shop located near the entrance to the away end, which you may care to
visit before or after the game. The covered ends contribute to a good
atmosphere at the ground and Christie Park is
normally a pleasant and relaxed day out.
Colin a visiting
Rochdale fan adds; 'To
get into the away seats you have enter through the away
end turnstiles (there is one marked seating) and walk down
to far side of the away terrace, where you then
show your ticket at the gate to pass through to the away seats
in the Main Stand'.

| Where To Drink? |
| Inside the ground under the Main Stand, is
the club's own bar called JB's.
However with the Club now gaining league status, then for
most games it is unlikely to admit away fans. This is simply because of the
increased numbers of away supporters that the Football League will bring.
However a new pub is being constructed at the south east corner of the
ground and hopefully this will admit away fans this season.
A better bet would be
the popular York Hotel on Lancaster Road, which is about a ten minute walk
away from the ground, going towards the town centre.
It has SKY television, serves food and has a selection
of Everards real ale on offer. If you have a bit more time on your hands
then there are plenty of bars to be found along the sea front.

| How To Get There
And Where To Park |
Exit the M6 at junction 34, then take the
A683 towards Lancaster and take the A589 towards Morecambe. Go
straight across two roundabouts passing a McDonalds outlet on your left.
At the next roundabout take the second exit into Lancaster Road. The
ground is down this road on your left. The main car park at the ground is
for pass holders only. However there is another small car park behind the
Umbro Stand which is free. Otherwise street parking.
The centre of Lancaster can often be a bottleneck for traffic, so allow a
little extra time for your journey from the motorway.

Train |
Morecambe railway station is about a
20 minute walk away from the ground. As you come out of the station turn
right going straight down Central Drive and then alongside Euston Road.
This leads into Lancaster Road where the ground is located. Morecambe is
served by trains from Lancaster.
Simon Rogers adds; 'We
caught the train after the game at Bare Lane station. It is nearer (by
about 5 minutes) to the ground than Morecambe
station and with the train to Lancaster leaving Morecambe at 17.09 then
calling at Bare Lane at 17.13 it gives slightly more time for walking.
Our game finished at
about 16.53 so we would have been hard pressed
to get to Morecambe in time but we were fine for Bare Lane'.
