1st League Ground visited:
Victoria Ground, Stoke City. I was aged about 5 or 6, and I think it was over a Bank Holiday weekend. My introduction to football wasn't a thriller - Stoke and Luton shared a goalless draw.

Last ground to complete the 92:
Bloomfield Road, Blackpool. It wasn't the venue I set out to finish at, but re-development work delayed my trip to the seaside. I always try to wait until reconstruction is finished before visiting a ground so I don't have to return once a new stand is open.

Date Completed: 26 December 2001

How long did it take to complete the 92?
Technically 23/24 years. However, I only started watching Everton in earnest during the early 80s and I resolved to 'do' the 92 in October 1999 when I had clocked up around 40 grounds with Everton.

Best ground visited Worldwide - San Siro, Milan.

Best ground visited of the 92:
Either Sunderland's impressive Stadium of Light of the grand-scale grounds, at the other end of the spectrum it would be the Vetch Field, Swansea or Blundell Park, Grimsby.

Worst ground visited of the 92:
Wimbledon's old Plough Lane was a dump and I'm not a big fan of Selhurst Park either, but my least favourite ground is Anfield. Enough said! Alternatives are Swindon's County Ground or Chesterfield's Saltergate - both totally lacklustre.

Best Experience on travels:
My best 'trip' was as an 18 year old to Italy for a month for the World Cup in 1990, the highlight of which was David Platt's last-gasp winner v Belgium in Bologna;.

Worst experience on travels:
Overall, failing to get a ticket for Munich in September 2001 - does 5-1 ring any bells?! Whilst doing the 92, failing to catch a game at either Grimsby (postponement after arrival) or Chesterfield (arrived too late from Grimsby).

Funniest Experience:
At the end of a FA Cup tie away to Plymouth in 1989, 3,000 Evertonians were channeled out of the away end - and across the pitch to the exits on the opposite side of the ground. What must have seemed like a sensible and safe idea to the Club and local police turned into a melee of crushed goalposts, ripped-up turf and trashed dugouts and stands! I also had a chuckle at the daft Newcastle fans up at St James' Park during a blizzard at a midweek away game. Thousands on the Gallowgate stripped off to their bare chests and sang Mirandinha songs for a long spell during the heaviest part of the storm. And my mate had winged all night how cold it was, having neglected to take a coat with him.

Most Goals seen in one match:
Can't remember exactly, but I do recall a couple of thumpings that Everton have dished out to Southampton at Goodison.

Best Match Watched:
Everton's title clincher at Carrow Road, Norwich in 1987; our FA Cup wins at Wembley during the 80s and 90s and the 4-4 v The Sh*te in a FA Cup replay, 1991 (the 2nd replay was even sweeter)

Best Goal Seen:
A Kevin Sheedy rocket for the Blues down at The Dell in 1989. He struck with that sweet left foot from a good 30 yards and the keeper (it may have been Shilts) never moved as it flew into the top corner. Gazza's wonder strike v Scotland at Euro 96 was a close 2nd.

Best Player Watched:
Gary Lineker for his one season wonder at Goodison during the 95-96 season, and his later achievements with England. Peter Beardsley and Gazza also figure highly in my memories.
Stupidest Chant Too many to mention but all from those zany Hammers fans!

Tips For Doing The 92:
Always check on ticket availability and where possible pre-order. Never rely solely on the trains!
