alternatives An interesting site that looks at how to make alternatives
to cow's milk. The site is aimed at beating the milk subsides in the US but
the information is useful.

dairy: handling food allergies This is dated May 1995 from the San
Diego Earth Times. The page talks about alternatives to dairy products including
cheese, milk, etc. Most of the information is around on this site as well as

Intolerance This site is part of the National Digestive Diseases
Information Clearinghouse. This is a site worth visiting for basic information
and often repeated on other sites, but here is the original.

Milk-Free This site is for people who are celiacs, however it is

Parents of food allergic kids
This link will take you to One list a e-mail group you will need to sign up
to an excellent group called Parents Of Food Allergic Kids or POFAK. Just follow
the instructions when you get to the site. The Group deals with all allergies
and there is a lot of mail sometimes, you can select digest which will give
you a condensed form of the day's mail. They are mainly US based but the members
are from all around the world including the UK. The moderator is also starting
a newsletter. The site also lists a couple of other email groups so you may

This site belongs to the author Sheri Updike who wrote "The Lactose-Free Cookbook"
Sheri's book is available in the UK and the information on the site is excellent.

The Mind-Body Digestive
Center The site has a lot
of resources and information on the mind-body link of digestive disorders such
as Irritable Bowel Syndrome, and many other diseases including women's health

Food and Chemical Allergy Association This is a small volunteer organization,
please contact your local UK library for their address.
The organization deals with all forms of chemical and food allergies and
advice is readily available mainly in the evenings and weekends. Sorry but no
address is available over the net as the organization is run by a small group
of volunteers and they can't cope with international enquires.

The organization produces lots of information about all forms of allergies and
