"Downstairs (at The Studio, Hartlepool) and North Yorkshire band 'HoneyTrap' are on stage. They're what would once have been called an indie guitar four-piece. The guitarist dressed all in black with guitar slung low, looked like a gun-slinger. The bassist was up on his toes and swinging across the stage. In front of the beatmaster, a young diva hurled her cascade of golden hair singing about her return from 'the big city ... it's been a long time but she's still as pretty'. I won't disagree. A wholehearted show is rewarded with generous applause and I'm impressed."

"They can't be using a Marshall stack at Montey's. Close your eyes and York based four piece 'HoneyTrap' sound like a promising teenage group taking a punchy American rock approach to British punk pop. Long on vicious lead guitar lines, short on middle eights or clever song structures - a wee bit raw. Andrea is certainly a strong front-woman, shaking her blonde hair, and songs like 'Be My Lover' have damn catchy hooks."

"Great night at The Vic recently when local band 'Stuffed' supported York punksters 'HoneyTrap'. Listening to the band I was reminded of 'Blondie' and 'The Ramones'. A strong, punchy, guitar-driven, drum-fuelled punky pop sound fronted by the gorgeous Andrea on vocals with Dave and Steve on guitars and Mick on drums. Their own material is unbelievably tight and memorable."

'On The Town' CD EP Review
"Based in York, 'HoneyTrap' are breaking into the North East with their own brand of Blondie-style punk rock. Twenty years ago fame and fortune would have been theirs for the asking but their sharp, Ramones/Buzzcocks sound will have its work cut out finding appreciative ears. This four track EP captures the band at their best and live they can cut it with the best of them as I found out first hand at The Vic (South Shields) with local band 'Stuffed'. The stunning Andrea on vocals and wiggle will appeal to the lads but don't let this distract you from the talent that oozes from the rest of the band. A perfect punk package."
