This group is for children 5-11 year old and there could be as many as 12 children in the group who will be sensitively streamed into ability both physical, and academically within the group, therefore not only will it provide the physical input required but it will expose the children to a broad and balanced academic curriculum. The requirements of the national curriculum and the demands of Conductive Education have been painlessly, and skillful, integrated to provide a seamless inspired teaching Programme.
This is backed up by a continuous assessment of each child's individual progress which is recorded in writing, photographs and video, this allows for the fine tuning required in the Programme. adjustments. The group commences at 8:30 am and is a continuous Programme. until 4:30 pm daily this is from Monday to Friday weekly and the academic year is for 48 weeks which is the longest in the UK. We have conductive swimming lessons, and the children take part in school visits during the year as would their able counterparts.
Children who attend full time will be the subject of a annual review, to which the parents and any professional involved with the child will be invited, this provides the opportunity to discuss the child's progress and sets objectives for the future. Children also attend in blocks of a minimum of two months this is for children who for one reason or another cannot attend full time. Early intervention is a priority and conductive education can be a short intervention in a child's life to assist in the integration to mainstream school. Or it could be for an extended time in the child's life.
