Reception Class
This is a group for children 4-6 years and not a group found in some schools, it is a fine tuning before the main school group and is flexible in both age and time as the child approaches 5 years old there is a legal requirement for full time education and this group is the final preparation. This Programme is again quite complex and carefully graded following continuous assessment feedback, so as to develop the personality and the confidence of the child keeping in mind the need in education for concentration. The Group starts at 8:30am and continues until 2pm which may be extended this will include the lunch period, eating being part of the Programme As the child develops the Programmes are adjusted to suit and the time will come when he/she will move to the school group. There will be selected times when the children will be introduce to the school group and the longer day. Children who attend full time will be the subject of an annual review, to which the parents and any professional involved with the child will be invited, this provides the opportunity to discuss the child's progress and sets objectives for the future.
