I don't
see why they had to replace 5th Dimension, a consistently popular ride
with Terror Tomb, sorry, Forbidden Tomb. I think they must have honestly
thought it would be so much better. It isn't THAT bad, but they could
have done so much better.

It
is far too cheesy. It is too naff for teenagers, patronising for adults
and too scary and loud for children - this is why the queues are so
short.

I
really don't think it is as bad as you're all making it out to be. I
can't think of many more epic and under-rated rides in the country.
Valhalla is boring, and that was hyped to oblivion and back, nobody made
a fuss about Terror Tomb and therefore it is quite a satisfying ride. It
is the best we're likely to get in this country for a long time. I agree
with Karen's analogy
of it though, although I have never found it a bore.

The
rock-music "gig" in the middle of the ride seemed completely
out of place and the ending with the Iron Maiden was pretty unpleasant
for a family ride... 5th
Dimension was better.

The first time I went on Forbidden Tomb was in
1994 when I was 12. I absolutely loved it, especially the 'rock show' at
the end. On returning in 2000, I was gravely disappointed, it just felt
so dated and some of the scenes didn't work. To me it felt more like a
spoof than a blockbuster ride, and compared to dark rides in the US it
is pitiful. I still liked some of the set pieces though, and I still
think the theming is great. Lets hope that the revamp for the 2002
season is successful when it will be known as Zombie or Tomb Blaster or
something like that. The big question is, will Adab make a return?!
