Subject: Instrument glass
Dear everyone, I am looking for a replacement domed instrument glass for the rev counter in my MG PA. I understand that Vintage Restorations will not sell components, so does anyone have any idea where I might get such a thing??

PS does anyone have a spare Lucas Altette horn bracket lying around???

Another and much less well known instrument specialist is George Filbey :
020-8771-9499, fax 020-8653-3061. He has all sorts of stuff in his stocks and knows where to go for what he doesn't have.

For the horn bracket try Gregory's Autoparts(they are on the web).

I had a small miniature (as in picture) frame glazed with domed glass
about 3 yrs. ago. Quite difficult because it was oval. By post from
Lathenian Enterprises, Unit 5, Pound Lane Trading Estate, Exmouth, EX8
4NN Tel:01395 277166. Recommended by my local clock repairer. Reasonable
price for the job, as I recall. I would phone first, partly because they
were very helpful and also to check that they still exist!

Dear nick
try a local watchmaker,i needed a clear domed glass for a spotlight,when i
couldnt source the real thing i used a domed glass from an old clock,it
looks original and cost me next to nothing, u might have to hunt around for
the right size though...

Thanks to everyone who responded to my instrument glass query. I'll wait to see how much Craig wants for his original, but aside from that the clock shop/parts supplier is clearly the place to go. Wish I'd thought of that myself!
Cheers
